CLIENT CASE 3 DAK 86 The work at Dak 86 Irvine involved a number of disciplines including masonry repairs to voussior stones using pigmented restoration mortar. In the before picture you can see the extent of the problem with large sections of the stonework missing. To reinstate the stonework the substrate was broken back to a sound base using hand held tools. The repair area was drilled and stainless steel dowels were fixed in position using epoxy resin. The repair was “blocked” out using a lightweight cementitious mortar. The repair was then finished using Lithomax restoration mortar.
